Metal Bernard’s establishment
Metal Bernard was started by Bernard Cartegnie and Suzanne Lavallée in their family’s home basement, before moving to their first local on Dupont Street. At first, Metal Bernard was manufacturing trailers and fireplace doors. The first laser was purchased just before moving to their brand-new location, 10,000 square foot factory in the Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon industrial park.

Mundial Group’s establishment
Louis Veilleux, Mario Ferland, Ginette Turmel and Eric Chrétien acquire Metal Bernard and CDMB. The companies were employing 53 at the time of acquisition. Mario, Louis, Ginette and Eric establish Mundial Group based on 5 statements that will, over time, become the Group’s guiding principles.

3 M$ is invested at Metal Bernard for a 15,000 square foot expansion.

BCI Rubber and UCB
Mundial Group acquires both: BCI Rubber, specializing in moulding rubber parts; and UCB, specializing in CNC and conventional machining.

Acquisition of Normandin Inc. and Metal Bernard’s acredidations
Mundial Group purchases Normandin Inc. that, like Metal Bernard, specializes in sheet metal transformation. This acquisition makes it possible to offer a unique and reliable contingency plan to their respective customers.
ISO 14001 accreditation is awarded to Metal Bernard- a first in its sector of activities.

Major investment for Metal Bernard. 5.5 M$ for a 15, 000 square foot expansion and comprehensive refurbishment. This expansion makes it possible to acquire a brand-new large format 1,500-ton press brake and a large 26-foot laser.

Sylvain Lemieux, first Companion Master in Quebec
Sylvain Lemieux, our training manager and health and safety coordinator, becomes the very first Master journeyman in Quebec. Accredited by PERFORM and the PAMT, he will now be able to train our team members internally and thus enable them to obtain their operator diplomas and obtain their journeyman class licences which are recognized by Emploi Québec.
